Palo Alto, CA – A man sustained a stab wound last night and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.  There is no suspect information.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at about 7:18 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a phone call from someone who reported that a man had been stabbed by an unknown suspect earlier in the evening.  They said the victim was outside of Happy Donuts, located at 3916 El Camino Real.  Officers and personnel from the Palo Alto Fire Department responded immediately.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a man in his twenties, had sustained a single stab wound in the back.  The victim told police the crime occurred on Cypress Lane, which runs behind the businesses in that area of El Camino Real, earlier in the evening.  The victim told police he did not know who stabbed him, said he never saw the suspect at any point, and did not know why someone would stab him.  Personnel from the Palo Alto Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was admitted.  He is expected to make a full recovery.  No suspect sketch will be forthcoming.
