Palo Alto, CA – Police arrested a man early Tuesday morning for an attempted stabbing that occurred two weeks earlier.

On Monday, August 17, 2015 at about 3:00 p.m. a man came to the Palo Alto Police Department to report that, on August 5, 2015 another man had threatened him and attempted to stab him in a driveway of the mobile home park located on the 3900 block of El Camino Real.

The investigation revealed that, at about 6:30 p.m. on August 5, 2015, the victim, a man in his twenties, and his friend, a woman in her thirties, were standing in front of the woman's residence within the Buena Vista mobile home park.  The suspect, a man with whom the woman was previously-acquainted, approached the pair.  The suspect then brandished a small knife and threatened to use it on the victim.  The woman stood between the two and convinced the suspect to leave.  A few minutes later, the victim was standing outside of the residence alone when the suspect returned.  The suspect beckoned the victim and, when the victim approached him, the suspect brandished the same knife, threatened the victim with it, and attempted to stab the victim.  The victim was able to deflect the suspect’s attempt to stab him and retreated back to his friend’s residence uninjured.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at about 1:00 a.m., patrol officers located the suspect in the parking lot of a service station next to the mobile home park.  The suspect, thirty-year-old Edgar Donis of Palo Alto, was arrested without incident.  Police later booked the suspect into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for one count of assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.  A booking photograph is attached to this release.
