Palo Alto, CA – Police are seeking a man who grabbed the buttocks of a woman walking downtown on Monday evening.  The suspect fled the area on a bicycle and is at large.

On Monday,  August 17, 2015 at about 9:00 p.m. a woman came to the Palo Alto Police Department to report that a man had groped her 15 minutes earlier while she was walking on the 500 block of High Street.  Officers responded to that area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The investigation revealed that, at about 8:45 p.m., the victim, a woman in her thirties, was walking northbound on the 500 block of High Street, returning to her parked vehicle.  When she approached her vehicle, she noticed a man with a bicycle loitering nearby.  As she turned away from the man to enter her vehicle, the man muttered something unintelligible before grabbing her buttocks.  The man then fled on his bicycle northbound on High Street.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his late twenties, wearing a dark colored baseball cap, white t-shirt, and dark colored shorts.  The suspect is said to stand 5 feet 10 inches tall and weigh about 160 pounds.  The suspect was seen riding a BMX style bicycle.  No suspect sketch is anticipated.

Detectives are actively investigating this case.  No recent similar incidents with similar suspect description have been reported.
