Contact : Marco Estrada, Agent, Police Department    650-329-2413
Palo Alto, CA – A man twice exposed himself downtown on Monday afternoon.  Police arrested him nearby.

On Monday, June 22, 2015, at about 2:20 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from a man on the 500 block of High Street reporting that another man had just stood in the roadway and exposed himself.  Officers responded to the area to search for the suspect.

The investigation revealed that, at about 2:15 p.m, while seated in his parked vehicle on the 500 block of High Street, the victim saw a man walk into the middle of the street and block vehicle traffic.  While in the middle of the street, the man unfastened his pants and exposed himself to numerous drivers and pedestrians.  After fastening his pants, the man fled toward University Avenue.

While officers were investigating the incident on High Street, our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from a bus driver reporting that, a few minutes earlier, she had seen a man blocking the intersection of University Avenue and Emerson Street while exposing himself.

About five minutes later, patrol officers located a man who matched the suspect description on the 500 block of Emerson Street.  He was subsequently identified as the man who had exposed himself on the 500 block of High Street and at the intersection of University Avenue and Emerson Street.

Police booked the suspect, 63-year-old Scott Ford Bogart of Palo Alto, into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for two misdemeanor counts of lewd conduct.  A booking photo of the suspect is attached to this release.
