Palo Alto, CA -- Three men broke into a pharmacy early Wednesday morning, taking dozens of bottles of prescription medication.  The suspects are at large.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at about 3:45 a.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from a man on the 200 block of Cambridge Avenue reporting that he had just seen three men running from a closed business.  The witness also reported that the front door of the business appeared to be broken.  Officers responded immediately and searched for the suspects with the assistance of a Palo Alto Police canine.  The suspects were not located.

The investigation revealed that, at about 3:35 a.m., three suspects used an unknown object to smash the glass front door of Maximart Pharmacy, located at 240 Cambridge Avenue.  The men then entered the closed business, through the broken door, and removed dozens of bottles of prescription medication.  Witnesses last saw the men running toward Park Boulevard.

The three suspects are described only as younger males of small to medium build.  Surveillance images of the suspects (attached) depict them wearing hooded sweatshirts.  One suspect is depicted wearing a ski-type mask.

A similar overnight burglary occurred at the Maximart Pharmacy on April 16, 2015, during which prescription medications were also stolen.  No arrested have been made in that case.  Detectives are investigating whether these incidents may be linked.
