Suspect Photographs Resident through Bathroom Window
Contact : Brian Philip, Detective Sergeant, Police Department    650-329-2413
Palo Alto, CA -- On Friday night a suspect used a cell phone to take a photograph, through an open window, of a woman showering inside her home.  The suspect is at large.

On Friday, June 12, 2015, at about 10:00 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from a woman on the 300 block of Olive Avenue reporting that someone had just used a cell phone to photograph her through an open bathroom window.  Officers responded immediately but were not able to locate the suspect.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a woman in her thirties, had been showering in her home when she noticed what appeared to be a cell phone outside the open bathroom window.  When she shouted out the window, the phone disappeared and she heard footsteps.   Another resident of the home ran outside but did not find the suspect.  Investigators believe that the suspect gained access to the window via an adjacent open driveway and did not enter the residence's enclosed yard.

No suspect description is available at this time, and no suspect sketch is anticipated.  No other similar incidents, of which we are aware, have occurred recently in Palo Alto or adjacent cities.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call our 24-hour dispatch center at 650-329-2413.  Anonymous tips can be e-mailed to paloalto@tipnow.org or sent via text message or voice mail to 650-383-8984.  Tips can also be submitted anonymously through our free mobile app, downloadable at bit.ly/PAPD-AppStore or bit.ly/PAPD-GooglePlay.
