Palo Alto, CA –The California Avenue Farmers' Market will officially re-launch in an expanded location on Sunday, March 23 when Mayor Nancy Shepherd and other City dignitaries officially welcome the market with a ribbon cutting and celebration at 10:30 a.m. on California Avenue between Birch and Ash streets.

With the California Avenue Streetscape Project underway, the market has been able to reconfigure, adding more space and more vendors, including Manresa Bread Project, Beet Generation Juice, organic Dim Sum, Banh Mi sandwiches and more.  The market, run by the Urban Village Farmers’ Market Association, is open throughout the year on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The construction phasing plan of the California Avenue Streetscape project is nearly complete and will be available soon. The scope of the project includes beautifying the streetscape including some sections of sidewalk widening and other amenities, as well as a replacement of the water main from El Camino to the CalTrain Station. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. For more information, for renderings of the completed project, and to sign up for regular updates, please visit:
