PUBLIC HEARING / QUASI-JUDICIAL. 181 Addison Ave [20PLN-00300]: Request for Preliminary Parcel Map with exception and variance to divide an existing 12,647 SF parcel into two parcels in the SOFA II district. All existing structures are proposed to be demolished. Parcel A is proposed to be approximately 6,297 SF and Parcel B is proposed to be approximately 6,350 SF . Environmental Assessment: The project is consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and is therefore covered under the Comprehensive Plan Environmental Impact Report. The project provides single-family housing in an area of Palo Alto zoned for the R-2 two-family residence district. The R-2 district is intended to allow a second dwelling unit under the same ownership as the initial dwelling unit on appropriate sites in areas designated for single-family use by the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan, under regulations that preserve the essential character of single-family use. Further, the project provides an opportunity for additional housing, consistent with the City’s Housing Element. Zoning District: R-2.
