to 03:00 PM
Location: Hoover Park, 2901 Cowper St, Palo Alto, CA 94306
Cuppa Joe is a free-standing sculpture made of upcycled Keurig coffee pods provided by the local community. Artist Amber Smith will engage the community in the creative process of finalizing the saucer - the artist will work on the artwork onsite on a regular schedule inviting the public to interact with and observe her progress.
The artist will employ these same community building efforts in the Midtown Neighborhood of Hoover Park, July to October of 2022. Meet the artist at Hoover park each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 - 11 a.m., and bring your used K-pods to donate to the project as she works on covering the saucer on location.
The artist will lead free community art making events on Sun, September 25 from 1 - 3 p.m. and Saturday, October 22 from 1 - 3 p.m.
The ArtLift Microgrant Program is an ongoing special program launched in 2021 by the Palo Alto Public Art Program. It provides funding for temporary projects by local artists and creatives with the goal of helping the community recover emotionally and economically from the pandemic through the arts and creative outlets.
