California Avenue Murals Event 2023 

The Palo Alto Public Art Program is planning for a large murals event on California Avenue this summer! Artists Olivia Losee-Unger, Paz de la Calzada, and Nicole Ponsler, (pictured from left to right) have been selected to paint vibrant temporary murals in the California Avenue District. The murals will be painted at two wall sites: Palo Alto Central on 149 California Avenue, and Izzy’s Brooklyn Bagels on 477 California Avenue. The third mural will be a streetscape ground mural at the intersection of California Avenue and Ash Street. Mural painting will take place from June 1-9, 2023.

All painting supplies and instructions will be provided. Sign up for an AM or PM shift between June 5 – 9. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes, bring water and sun screen. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and sign a waiver at the event. Volunteers under 18 years old must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver. Previous painting experience is not necessary.
