Yoga for well-being - Though yoga has its origins in India, it’s benefits are available to the West, the same way the inventions of the West are available to the East. The term ‘yoga’ typically means yoga asana or postures to most people. But yoga is much broader. This yoga session will establish the broader context of yoga and then zoom in (no pun intended) to the familiar yoga asana/poses. Yoga asanas along with the associated breathing and meditative practices help to provide strength, flexibility, enhanced immunity and ability to handle stress; leading to an overall well-being and good health. The session will tease you to consider yoga given its benefits accompanied by a live demonstration of select yoga practices. The session will be presented by Venki Venkatesh.
