Gas Main Replacement 24

Project Description

The Natural Gas Main Replacement Project 24A will replace approximately 2,450 linear feet of Polyvinylchloride (PVC) and steel gas mains with polyethylene (PE) pipe, 4 new PE gas services, and reconnect 4 existing PE gas services to the new gas main in the Stanford Shopping Center. The Project targets replacement of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) gas mains and gas services that are nearing their operational life expectancy and have become brittle over time. The project also targets replacement of steel mains and services that are identified to be corroded due to the lack of cathodic protection.

Scope of Work

  • Replacing the gas distribution system with PE.
  • Installation of PE gas main, new gas services and gas meter boxes. 
  • Reconnection of existing PE gas service to the new PE gas main. 

Project Status 

Gas Main Replacement Project 24A will start construction on January 2, 2023. The gas mains will be replaced in the streets surrounding the Stanford Shopping Center. Vehicle and pedestrian access in and out of the Stanford Shopping Center will be impacted. The final completion date for this work will be March 31, 2023.  The City’s contractor for this project will be Daleo Inc.
