The City of Palo Alto maintains a water system consisting of seven reservoirs. The Corte Madera reservoir is one of the City of Palo Alto’s reservoirs located in the foothills area, known as the Foothill Water Storage System. The reservoir is a 1.5 million gallon (MG), above ground, welded steel reservoir that was constructed in 1969 and is now reaching its useful life. This project will replace the existing reservoir with a new, above ground, pre-stressed concrete reservoir at the same location. The new concrete reservoir will be an 80 linear foot (LF) diameter reservoir with overall height of 52 LF. The construction work will take place at the reservoir site with a designated construction staging area in the vicinity of Enid W. Pearson Arastradero Preserve Park Gate B located on Arastradero Road.
The Woodland Star Trail will remain open during the construction and a portion of the trail will be used as a construction access road. Please use caution when accessing the trail.
The construction is anticipated to be completed in June 2022.
Working hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
This project is estimated to begin construction on April 5, 2021.
