Restroom Projects

The City of Palo Alto is currently installing new restrooms at a number of locations in Palo Alto recreation facilities.  These recreation facilities were chosen due to the high volume of use by the community and the high-quality facilities that require a restroom facility for prolonged use.  A capital improvement project was established in 2017 that provides funding every other year for new restroom facilities.

The new restroom facilities will be installed at the following locations.

Current Projects

Rinconada Park

The new Rinconada Park Restroom will be located adjacent to the newly remodeled playground at the park.  The restroom will service the full park, but will provide closer facilities to the playground and group picnic areas that exist at that end of the park.   The current restroom located centrally in the park will also be replaced as part of Phase 2 of the Rinconada long range renovation plan, which is anticipated to occur in 2025.

Installation Schedule: Summer 2023

Cubberley Community Play Fields and Track

With it’s newly renovated and updated Track and Synthetic field facility as well as large open turf play field, the Cubberley Community Center provides space for a large number of recreational activities.  To meet the demands of the space a new restroom (to be located  near the Nelson Drive entry) is proposed to be installed in the summer of 2023.

Installation Schedule: Summer 2023

Ramos Park

Ramos Park with it’s large group picnic area, playground, and large open turf area provides several community options for outdoor recreation.  Currently lacking a restroom to support the park facilities a new restroom in proposed for the park, and was supported by the community during the community design phase portion of the project.

Installation Schedule: Spring 2024

Boulware Park

Boulware Park, which is scheduled to be fully renovated and expanded, will have a new restroom to support the new playground, group picnic area, basketball courts, open turf area and dog park. The new restroom was incorporated into the overall design during the community design phase portion of the project

Installation Schedule: Summer 2023
