Rebuilt in 2014, Mitchell Park Community Center (MPCC) provides the City of Palo Alto with an environmentally-friendly community complex. This 15,000-square-foot complex is part of a larger 41,000-square-foot campus including the Mitchell Park Library and Ada's Cafe. Strategically placed to maximize natural sunlight, the building surrounds a picturesque courtyard featuring a mature California Coastal Valley Oak tree. Our event spaces are perfect for your next wedding, bar/bat mitzvah, business meeting, or special event.

Mitchell Park Community Center Booking Process

  • The Mitchell Park Community Center may be reserved for events up to one (1) year in advance. Applications can be submitted via email, fax, or turned in at the community center front desk. Once an application is approved, a permit will be emailed with event details, rental fees, and the payment plan.

  • We can process the payment in full upon approval of your application, or break your payments down into two (2) installments. The first installment is one-half (1/2) of your total rental and is due immediately upon approval of your application. You have ten (10) days to cancel with no cancellation fees. After the ten (10) days has passed, the amount is no longer refundable. The final installment is due no later than one (1) month prior to your event date. Failure to pay by your payment deadlines will result in the immediate cancellation of your event.

  • We require at least one (1) month notice for application submissions. Availability of rooms can be seen in links below or provided by phone or email. No date will be held until an application is submitted.

  • For tours, please call or email us to schedule an appointment. Drop-ins are accepted, however we ask that you follow up ahead of time in case there is an event taking place.

  • El Palo Alto Room
    Resident $247/hr | Non-Resident $369/hr | Non-Profit $124/hr

    The El Palo Alto Room features hardwood floors and built-in audio-visual technology making this room ideal for dances, parties, and weddings. This large 3,000 square-foot room can accommodate 250 dining, 300 assembly seating, or 500 standing guests and is connected to a catering kitchen for your convenience (rented separately).

  • Adobe Room
    Resident $213/hr | Non-Resident $318/hr | Non-Profit $107/hr

    The Adobe Room measures 1,735 square feet and features a built-in projector and seating for 90, making it ideal for large meetings or presentations.

  • Matadero Room
    Resident $98/hr | Non-Resident $147/hr | Non-Profit $49/hr

    The Matadero Room measures over 900 square feet and can accommodate 45 seated guests, making it ideal for meetings, classes, or small gatherings.

  • Kitchen
    Resident $70/hr | Non-Resident $106/hr | Non-Profit $35/hr

    Our kitchen comes fully equipped with an ice machine, a stove, oven, microwave, sink, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, and warming units.

Facility Attendant Requirement

  • In addition to the hourly room rates, a $42/hr charge will be applied to events occurring outside our normal business hours. There is a four (4) hour minimum for facility attendants. If your event is less than four (4) hours, you will still be charged for the four (4) hour minimum.

Cancellation Policy

  • 50% of your rental payment is due up front, you have 10 days to reach out to us and cancel for a full refund, after that the 50% is no longer refundable. The final 50% is due no later than 30 days prior to the date of your booking.
