Due to COVID-19, the Art Center has expanded our digital art offerings for the public. Find all of our virtual classes and workshops in our online catalog and then see our archived virtual experiences on YouTube.

Upcoming Virtual classes include:

Beginning Weaving: Adults and youth 12 and older are invited to join artist and Art Center instructor Charlene Chow to learn to make your own loom out of cardboard and weave with materials you have at home. Charlene will teach this modern take on traditional weaving that she learned in a workshop at the Santa Fe Museum of Indian Arts and Culture taught by Native American women from local pueblos. These women started weaving at a young age using traditional techniques passed down for many generations for thousands of years. In this fun interactive online class taught via Zoom, you will make your own cardboard loom and learn several different types of weaving patterns. Sunday, February 21, 11 a.m. to noon. $20 for Palo Alto residents, $23 for nonresidents. Register today!

Let’s Start Drawing: Join Rachel Philips, author of Drawing Illuminated: Beyond Basic and Endless Days: Games for Remote Gatherings  for her virtual interactive drawing class. See with the eyes of an artist and draw again, or start drawing for the first time. Share drawing games and classes. Enjoy a lunch hour of connection with Art Center friends. Tuesdays, March 2-23, 12:30-1:30 p.m. $80 for Palo Alto residents, $92 for nonresidents, for adults 18+. Register today!
