I paint in acrylic, gouache, watercolor and oil on canvas, paper and board. While my subjects range from portrait to landscape to still life, they are all a means to explore identity, motherhood, and nostalgia. I return to the idea of nostalgia often. Images of amusement parks, beaches and towering trees all call me back to a time that feels easier in hindsight. The chance to recapture some of the feelings of endless summer experiences with my family is irresistible. My main goal in this work is to satisfy my own craving for these moments, but I value the connections I make with others through these nearly universal images of happiness.
