New
Government Channel 29
|
Palo Alto, CA -- Channel 29, a new government channel, has
been added to the channel line-up for the cable system that serves
Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Atherton, Menlo Park and portions of
San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. The new government channel 29
will complement the existing government channel 26, making two dedicated
government channels.
"The new channel provides the cable system communities additional
live city council and committee meetings. We think that residents
will be pleased with the increased opportunity to view meetings
live as well as see replays of meetings," said David Ramberg,
cable franchise manager for Palo Alto.
The added capacity provided by government channel 29 will enable
Palo Alto and the other cities to broadcast more than one live meeting
at the same time, reducing the occurrence of conflicting live meeting
broadcasts currently experienced. In the weekday daytime channel
29 will broadcast the California legislature when in session.
Residents can access the schedules for channels 26 and 29 in the
television grid in the local newspaper, or online at www.cityofpaloalto.org/clerk
