Forum to Feature Greg Larson, Chief Deputy State Controller
Event is Free and Open to the Public

Palo Alto, CA -- The City of Palo Alto and the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce are pleased to present "Looking Ahead to 2004: California Taxes, Policies, and Leadership." Mr. Greg Larson, Chief Deputy State Controller from State Controller Steve Westly's Office, will discuss what lies ahead for the State of California during these historic times. The forum will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Palo Alto Civic Center located at 250 Hamilton Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Larson will address the anticipated changes and impacts of the recent recall election. Mr. Larson will also discuss other major issues affecting the State and local businesses, including Workers' Compensation, the Manufacturers' Investment Credit, privacy issues, and recent revenue trends. An informal question and answer session will follow the presentation.

This forum is part of a continuing series sponsored by the City of Palo Alto Economic Development Division of the City Manager's Office and the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce. Past forums have included conversations with experts from the field of nanotechnology, the local retail market, commercial real estate and development firms, local venture capital firms, the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group and the Center for the Continuing Study of the California Economy.
