Opening
Celebration for High/Alma Parking Structure
Palo Alto, CA -- After
nearly 10 years of planning and 16 months of construction, a parking
structure is opening in downtown Palo Alto. On September 24, 2003,
a Grand Opening Celebration will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
at the High/Alma South Parking Structure located at 528 High Street.
The event is free and open to the public.
The High/Alma South Parking Structure has 211 full size parking
spaces. In keeping with Palo Alto's commitment to sustainability,
the garage also accommodates electric vehicles with recharging stations,
and cyclists, with bike lockers and racks. Other features include
a poetry wall with prize-winning haiku on display, thanks to a competition
sponsored by the Palo Alto Weekly.
Years of hard work by a number of people made this structure possible:
Watry Design, Inc.; Turner Construction; Joseph Bellomo Architects;
McCarthy Construction; and City of Palo Alto Public Works engineering.
