Council to Discuss Libraries

Mayor Dena Mossar today announced that the City Council will hold a special meeting (date and time to be announced) to discuss Palo Alto's Libraries.

The Library Advisory Commission, a body formed to study library issues and make recommendations to the City Council, is close to finishing a new report called "The Palo Alto Library Plan Status Report & Recommendations."

Said Mayor Dena Mossar, "I appreciate the work the LAC is doing in keeping the issue of the library needs alive, even in this down economy. This group has worked tirelessly and passionately for Palo Alto's libraries, which are a treasured asset of our community. I look forward to the public discussion of this issue."

At the meeting, the City Council will formally receive the recommendations of the Library Advisory Commission. The meeting date will be announced next week.
