Public Meetings on Corridor Plan
for Charleston and Arastradero Roads
|
Palo Alto, CA -- The City of Palo Alto Transportation Division is sponsoring two public meetings regarding the Charleston Road-Arastradero Road Corridor Plan, as mandated by the City Council in April. Two July meetings are planned, one focusing on Arastradero Road, the other on Charleston Road. All interested persons are invited to attend one or both of these events.
The Corridor Plan will consider ways and means to enhance travel safety, especially for children cycling and walking to and from school, without causing undue delay to motorists or shifting traffic onto nearby residential streets. Topics for the meetings include the purpose, process and schedule of the Corridor Plan, as well as potential Corridor "performance measures" to guide the planning process.
The Transportation Division wants to hear from all Charleston Road and Arastradero Road stakeholders, including residents of either street and of surrounding neighborhoods, representatives of schools and businesses along or near the corridor, commuters, cyclists, pedestrians, and transit users. Both meetings will include information pertaining to the entire corridor, however, the July 10th meeting will emphasize Arastradero issues and the July 15th meeting will emphasize Charleston Road.
Meeting details are as follows:
