Palo Alto, CA -- At 1:15PM today, school authorities called Palo Alto Police to report an assault with a deadly weapon that had just occurred on the Gunn High School Campus, 780 Arastradero Road. Campus administrators followed preplanned procedures in the event that a weapon was used on campus and locked the students in the safety of their classrooms for about 45 minutes. While responding, police units were told that the weapon was a BB pistol. Officers located the two female students who were the victims. Soon thereafter they located the suspect, a 15-year-old female student. The three had an argument earlier in the day and as a result, the 15 year old fired three BB’s at the other girls, missing three times. She used a BB pistol that a 15-year-old boy brought onto the campus.

The 15-year-old girl was arrested and booked at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall. The 15-year-old boy who brought the weapon to school was cited and released to parents. Both students may face disciplinary action at school
