Forum
to Discuss Palo Alto's Retail Market
Event is Free and Open to the Public

Palo Alto, CA -- The City of Palo Alto and the Palo Alto
Chamber of Commerce will host their first Economic Forum of 2003
on Wednesday, March 12 from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Palo Alto Civic
Center. The forum will focus on the state of the retail market from
both a local and regional perspective. Shanti Breznau, an Associate
Planner from local economic and retail consultant firm Strategic
Economics, will moderate a panel of experts on this topic. Panelists
include David Longbine, Director of Stanford Shopping Center, local
developer Warren Thoits, President of Thoits Bros., Inc., and Todd
Oliver, a partner at Terranomics, the retail division of BT Commercial.
Panelists will participate in a facilitated discussion on the challenges
and opportunities facing this sector in Palo Alto and Silicon Valley.
An informal question and answer session will follow the panel discussion.
This forum is part of a continuing series sponsored by the City
of Palo Alto Economic Development Division of the City Manager's
Office and the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce. Past forums have included
conversations with experts from commercial real estate and development
firms, local venture capital firms, the Silicon Valley Manufacturing
Group and the Center for the Continuing Study of the California
Economy.
