| Celebrate Mitchell Park's 50th Anniversary on April 14
|
Palo Alto, CA --
Major renovations have been completed at Mitchell Park, just in time for its 50th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bowl Area located at 3800 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
Mayor Yoriko Kishimoto will commemorate this special occasion with the recognition of those who have made Mitchell Park the special place it is, including the park’s original designer Robert Royston and staff involved with the restoration and ongoing care of the park.
Renovations over the last five years have restored picnic areas, updated children play areas and enhanced the children’s splash pool. Always a popular location for the annual Chili Cook-Off, concerts in the park, folk dancing and opera, Mitchell Park is celebrated for providing Palo Alto with a lovely venue for family and community celebrations.
The 50th anniversary celebration coincides with “Step It Up Silicon Valley – A Climate Action Festival” as a kick-off to Earth Week. Invite your neighbors and friends, pack a picnic lunch and joins us for this momentous occasion!
