Good Samaritan Sought

Palo Alto, CA -- The Palo Alto Police Department is searching for a Good Samaritan who witnessed an assault and came to the aid of a female in the 4200 block of Wilkie Way on Sunday, January 21, 2007, at about 7:45 p.m.

A Palo Alto resident in her forties was walking her dog in the area when she was battered by the suspect. While the woman fought back, a passerby ran to her aid and scared off the suspect. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The suspect’s intent and motivation in attacking the woman remain unknown.

The suspect is described as an unknown race male, possibly in his teens or twenties. He had a slender build, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He spoke with a Spanish accent. The suspect was last seen running westbound into a vacant construction site.

The Palo Alto Police Department encourages residents to contact police immediately if they notice any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area.

If you have any information about this case or the identity of the Good Samaritan, please contact Detective Agent Zach Perron at (650) 329-2307.
