Interrupted By Homeowner

Palo Alto, CA -- On
October 11, 2006, Palo Alto Police responded to 3393 Cork Oak Way
on a report of a Burglary in progress. The homeowner called to report
that she had just scared away a burglar from inside her home. Officers
immediately responded and set up a perimeter and searched the area
with the help of Menlo Park K-9. After an extensive search of the
area, no suspect was apprehended.
The
homeowner returned at approximately 1:15pm, and heard noises coming
from inside her home when she reached her front door. The homeowner
began searching around her home and confronted an unknown male walking
out of her side yard. The male denied being in her home and quickly
fled the area on foot in a westbound direction on Ames Way .
The
homeowner entered her residence and found her bedroom had been ransacked
and several pieces of jewelry missing. It is possible that the suspect
exited through a rear bathroom window to escape.
The
suspect is described as a White Male, late 20's, 5'10”tall and 140-150lbs
with black or brown short hair. The suspect had no facial hair and
was wearing a light blue shirt and pants, very similar to hospital
scrubs.
