Robbery At Union Bank In South Palo Alto
|
Palo Alto, CA -- At
approximately 9:41 am today, Palo Alto Police Officers received
a call of a bank robbery in progress at the Union Bank at 4291 El
Camino Real in Palo Alto . Officers searched the surrounding areas
and neighborhoods with the suspect's description but were unable
to locate the suspect.
There
were approximately 10 customers and employees present when the suspect
entered the bank. He approached one of the teller windows, exhibited
a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect exited the bank with an
undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. No suspect vehicle
was seen or heard. No one was injured during the robbery.
The
suspect is described as an unknown race male, with an Eastern/ European
accent, approximately 5'08” to 5'09” tall, weighing between 160
and170 pounds, with olive skin and dark eyes. He was wearing blue
jeans, tan work boots and a gray sweat shirt with black sleeves
and hood. The suspect was wearing a black mask.
The
FBI responded to the bank and is working with the Palo Alto Police
during the investigation. Connections to other area bank robberies
are being looked at.
