Alto City Library Announces
Improved Magazine Borrowing
|
Palo Alto, CA -- The Library is
changing the way customers check out magazines. Starting
August 1st magazines will be barcoded and checked out just like
books, making them easier to borrow and to look up in the catalog.
“These changes will provide
better information about our magazine collection,” says Circulation
Coordinator Rose Sebastian. “After August 1st, customers
searching for magazines in the catalog will be able to see which
issues are available and which ones have been checked out.”
Magazine borrowers will also
benefit. “Customers who check out magazines will see them
listed on their library records, so they'll know how many they have
and when they're due,” adds Sebastian.
Like books, magazines will
check out for four weeks, and may be renewed twice; overdue fines
will be $0.25 per day. Detailed information about the new
magazine policies is available at all libraries.
