Palo
Alto City Library Improves DVD Request Policy
|
Palo
Alto -- Effective March 1st, the City of Palo Alto Library will
make it more convenient for customers to get the DVD of their choice.
"DVDs
are now the most popular type of item put on hold by customers,"
said Circulation Supervisor Rose Sebastian. "Unfortunately,
many of the DVDs that are on hold aren't picked up quickly, so we're
making some changes to our process."
Sebastian
explained that when more DVDs are on hold, there are fewer available
on the browsing shelves, which means they are out of circulation.
"We're reducing the amount of time that DVDs will be kept on
hold to five days, down from the eight days that most materials
are kept."
The
maximum number of requests, also called "holds", will
be increased to fifteen per library card with a DVD limit of three.
Check out of DVDs is still limited to two per card.
