Palo Alto, CA --On today’s date at about 10:47AM, a 7 year old boy started choking on a sandwich that he was eating while at home. His 11 year old sister saw that her brother was in distress and she immediately administered the Heimlich maneuver. Her swift actions caused the sandwich to dislodge from her brother’s throat. Palo Alto Fire Department personnel responded to the scene. They credited the sister with saving her brother’s life. The victim was home with his two sisters at the time of this incident as school was not in session.
