City and School District Sign Compact to Plan Future of Cubberley
March 9 — The City of Palo Alto and the Palo Alto Unified School District today signaled their commitment to collaboratively plan for the future of the Cubberley campus by signing the Cubberley Futures Compact at a ceremony held in the auditorium at Cubberley. The Compact renews the commitment between the City and PAUSD to jointly plan for the future of the site, and is intended to build on the foundation of the Cubberley Citizens Advisory Committee that was formed in 2012 to make recommendations about the future of the 35-acre site. Lanie Wheeler, who served on the Cubberley Citizens Advisory Committee, introduced the event and read the text of the Compact to those attending, which included several other members of the CCAC, as well as Palo Alto City Councilmembers Greg Schmid, Cory Wolbach and Tom DuBois, and School Board member Melissa Baten Caswell.
