The official dedication of the new media artwork in the City Hall lobby was on Wednesday, March 2, with the artist, Susan Narduli, on hand to greet visitors and discuss her visionary work.
Entitled Conversation, the public is invited to join the conversation on the interactive art installation that's designed to be a visual narrative of the people, places and discussions taking place in Palo Alto and beyond.
The digital artwork went on display in January and is intended to bring the public into the civic space and engage them in a meaningful interactive way. It contains Twitter feeds from local, national, and global news feeds that populate the screens. Images and comments submitted by the public from a kiosk located in the lobby or online are also included in the visual display.
"Conversation transforms the lobby of our City Hall into a welcoming 'home'; a creative community forum for expression," said Elise DeMarzo, Public Art Program Manager.
The public dedication included live jazz music and light refreshments.
You can always join the Conversation remotely from your smart device to make your voice count.
