The Santa Clara County Vector Control District has confirmed that adult mosquitoes collected from the 94043, 94303, and 94306 ZIP code areas of the cities of Palo Alto and Mountain View tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). This detection has prompted the scheduling of a mosquito fogging treatment in the surrounding areas, in an effort to prevent human cases of WNV. Weather permitting, the ground fogging operations are scheduled for 11 p.m. on Monday, July 13 and will conclude a few hours later in the early morning of Tuesday, July 14. A map of the area can be seen here. You can check the District's Fogging Information page where you can find answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding WNV fogging. In addition, on Monday and Tuesday July 13-14, vector control staff will answer questions via a dedicated phone line/voicemail (800 314-2427) from 8 a.m. to 4 pm. Questions can also be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
