From movies to maker space, the Varsity Theater was transformed into a place for the future as the City joined SAP and Blue Bottle Café for the opening of HanaHaus on March 17. Centrally located in one of the most historic buildings in Palo Alto, HanaHaus features a full service café and community workspace for design thinking workshops, inspirational speakers, musical events, hackathons, and a tech desk where entrepreneurs can connect with others about technology.
Council member Pat Burt, filling in for the Mayor, noted that HanaHaus represents a "rebirth" of the Varsity Theatre, adding that it “combines the social, cultural, creative into a hub of innovation” and represents a “merging of the past and the future.”
HanaHaus will officially open to the public on March 19. For more information on the new space, go to www.hanahaus.com.
