Mayor Holman Gives Annual State of the City Address
On Feb. 18, newly-elected Mayor Karen Holman gave the annual State of the City address to a packed audience at the new Mitchell Park Community Center.
In her speech, in which she called Palo Alto a steward and entrepreneur, Holman discussed some of the City's most pressing issues and the Council’s plans for addressing them in the upcoming year. Along with the Council’s 2015 Priorities which will be a main focus for the year, Holman outlined several areas she would like to see the City turn its attention to, such as strengthening its neighborhoods, increasing retail opportunities in the City while protecting independent retailers, and reforming the City’s Architectural Review process.
