The City of Palo Alto is committed to providing high-quality and innovative services to the community, businesses and visitors. While many of these services are available by visiting City Hall, Lucie Stern Community Center or the City's Development Center, Palo Alto is increasingly providing more convenient services online whether through the City’s website at www.cityofpaloalto.org or on mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet computer. Currently, the community can access more than 50 useful services online covering almost every department within the City.
Online services can be accessed from any Internet browser such as Google Chrome or on an Apple iPhone or Android tablet. For example, the City provides a smartphone app called Pulsepoint that can potentially assist in the response to a potential heart attack, and can be found in the Palo Alto Apps Store. There is also a smartphone app that can assist with public safety related items. On the City’s eServices page, there are a diverse range of services that include tools for starting a business in Palo Alto, checking the status of a permit request, looking up flood zones, providing feedback on a range of relevant topics, and many others.
The City plans to develop and make available more online services and encourages the community to explore and use the wide range available.
