The City of Palo Alto has been named one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live 2015 by Livability.com, a national website that ranks quality of life amenities of America's small and mid-sized cities. More than 2,000 cities with populations between 20,000 and 350,000 were considered for the list, with Palo Alto coming in at #5.
Partnering with the research team at the Martin Prosperity Institute, a leading think tank on the role of location, place and city-regions in global economic prosperity, Livability analyzed 40 data points grouped into eight categories to come up with this year's list. The eight categories taken into consideration are: economics, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, education and health care.
Last year, Palo Alto came in at #1 on the list, and according to Livability, it remains one of the best places to live, especially for those "blazing the digital frontier." Palo Alto’s schools and open spaces were taken into consideration for this year’s ranking, as well as its well-educated, politically active and socially-minded population.
