Bicyclists in Palo Alto now have another safe route in the City to ride along with the recent installation of green bike lanes on W. Meadow Drive between El Camino Way and Wilkie Way. The newest corridor of green bike lanes is the third to be installed in the City in an effort to make bicyclists more visible to drivers and to ensure their safety in high-traffic areas.
"The advantage of the green bike lanes is that they clearly define the roadway space that motorists need to dedicate to bicyclists, and the bicyclists are guided properly to where they need to ride," said Jaime Rodriguez, the City's chief transportation official.
The rules of the road are important for both drivers and bicyclists to know. Click here for a video explaining bicycling and driving in and near the green bike lanes.
