The City of Palo Alto was named the 2014 Most Electric Vehicle Ready Community at the Charged & Connected Symposium on April 24, 2014 at SAP in Palo Alto. Other nominations in the small- and medium-sized community category were the cities of Benicia, Cupertino, and Novato.
The award recognizes businesses, communities and developments in the Bay Area that are taking a leadership role in encouraging the adoption of Electric Vehicles (EV) through forward-looking policies, programs, infrastructure and education.
"Palo Alto has one of the highest per capita densities of EVs in the state, and therefore in the country," said Palo Alto City Manager James Keene. “But we're preparing for many more to come.”
