In its 18th year, the annual Best of the Web (BOW) awards recognize city, county and state governments for outstanding portals and websites based on innovation, functionality, productivity and performance. The City of Palo Alto's website, which was redesigned before it was launched in 2012, was a finalist in the City Portal category.
The Digital Government Achievement Awards (DGAA), which highlight outstanding agency and department websites and applications, presented 57 awards in 10 categories this year. This year’s first-place BOW winners are the State of Tennessee, Alameda County, California, and Austin, Texas.
