Council Members Tour Cubberley Community Center

Several members of the City Council took a tour of the Cubberley Community Center on Monday, June 24 to get a closer look at the facility and consider options for its future use. Participating council members included Liz Kniss, who chairs the Council's Policy and Services Committee and suggested the tour, Marc Berman, Larry Klein, Gail Price and Greg Schmid. The group stopped at 10 locations including visits with artists-in-residence Marguerite Fletcher and Linda Gass; Good Neighborhood Montessori pre-school; various community meeting rooms; ACME Education Group; Hua Kuang Chinese Reading Room; a cardiac therapy room; recreational fields and tennis courts; and a classroom and student lounge at the satellite campus of Foothill College. "Our goal is to really take a look at it now that we’re in the throes of deciding what to do with the facility," said Council Member Kniss.
