Compost Basics Using compost in your garden improves your soil, benefiting your plants and enhancing your garden's health and vitality. Compost helps plants absorb nutrients already in your soil, allows plants to develop better root structure which will help them grow healthier, and holds onto water and nutrients that are applied and slowly releases them when plants need them. Landscape Design and Planning
Designed for beginners interested in landscape design or for residents planning to replace their lawn with a water efficient landscape, this class is a step-by-step overview of basic landscape design principles. Learn about optimal plant arrangements, design concepts, and have your questions answered by a professional landscape contractor. By the end of the class, you can expect to leave with ideas for your landscape conversion. Bring a rough sketch of your landscape with approximate measurements, a pencil, and an eraser to brainstorm ideas for what your new water efficient landscape will look like.

Less-Toxic Pest Control Fall Garden Pest Prevention Fall is the perfect time to set your garden up for success in the spring. In this class you will learn how to prune, propagate and deadhead plants to improve and maintain their health. Bring your shears and a few sample branches from your garden.
