The Drop: Membership Required
Teens can come to The Drop to play pool, ping pong, fuse ball, listen to music, or play X-box. Teens will also have the opportunity to participate in organized games and other activities such as cooking projects dance performances, art projects and special "Drop" events. The teen center is a wonderful place to do homework, hang out with friends and meet new ones as well!
The Drop offers monthly field trips where Teens have the opportunity to take short field trips to local attractions. They will engage in new activities and hopefully, find new interests in a safe supervised environment. In order to visit the Drop, participants must become Mitchell Park Youth and Teen Members. Membership is free, visit Mitchell Park and register today.

Computer Lab
Mitchell Park Youth and Teen Center is proud of its computer lab and homework center. The Lab is equipped with 10 computers, all with internet access. Computer use is free, but in order to use the computers you must be a registered Mitchell Park Youth and Teen Center member. The lab is supervised by a staff at all times and web use is filtered to insure safety and appropriateness of teen computer use.
Homework Center
Our teen homework center provides a quiet and supportive place for students to work. We do offer homework assistance if it is needed. The homework lab is staffed by our educational specialist. Those who attend the homework center are always provided with a special snack to help their motivation and to feed there brains.

Mitchell Park Dances
Teen dances are grade specific, well supervised and open to all teens living or going to school in Palo Alto. Come listen to all the major hits as our professional “DJ” keeps the dance floor moving. Code of conduct strictly enforced.

Junior Advisory Board
The Junior Advisory Board (JAB) is made up of 10-12 6th-8th graders who advise the Palo Alto Recreation staff on recreation and community programs. The J.A.B. mission is to represent and support the diverse junior voices of the Palo Alto community. The Palo Alto Junior Advisory Board focuses on further enhancing the community by serving as links between teens and all others, and by developing ideas, implementing teen programs and encouraging teen involvement. If you would like to join the Junior Advisory Board applications are available and should be returned no later then May 1st, 2008. Youth Council
The Palo Alto Youth Council (PAYC) is made up of 15 Palo Alto high school students. Youth Council members are appointed by the mayor of the City Of Palo Alto from recommendations made by a nominating committee. PAYC works closely with the Human Relations Commission and the City Council to contribute information on issues related to Palo Alto youth. PAYC also studies problems, activities and concerns of the youth; hold forums on these issues and implements new community programs. PAYC members meet Monday nights from 6-7 and serve for one year. Break Dance Workshops
Air-Flares? Top-Rocks? Windmills? What are these dance moves? Break Dance moves of course! These are just a few moves you can learn for free! Every Monday and Wednesday night from 6pm-10pm, Mitchell Park Teen Programs hosts free break dance workshop sessions. Come have some fun and great exercise with this retro dance movement! Break Dance is a healthy and positive way to get in shape and learn about this awesome hip-hop culture. Sessions are always free and open to all age groups! These sessions are located in Mitchell Park Community Center's main hall. Please wear comfortable clothing.
