Library Advisory Commission's Long-range Plan

On December 11, 2006, the City Council approved the highest level of collection, technology and facility recommendations in the Library Service Model Analysis and Recommendations report, and asked staff to continue to refine the costs to improve library facilities.

Simultaneously, the City has hired Group 4 Architects to look at improvement possibilities for the Mitchell Paark Library/Community Center, and the Main and Downtown Libraries. Any project will adhere to community and City priorities in the most fiscally prdudent and responsible manner. The City has already made some determinations with respect to potential designs in order to be the most cost effective. The City council has also directed the City to proceed with planning that includes renovation to the Community Center at the same times as the adjacent Mitchell park Library; this makes sense for project planning and cost efficiency.
