An updated hydrology report has been completed for the San Francisquito Creek watershed. A hydrologist examines the watershed characteristics, historical rainfall records, and current and future land use patterns to predict the peak flows in a stream for various return intervals (e.g. the 1 percent [100-year] storm event). The hydrology report is a key component in the ongoing San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority (JPA)/Army Corps of Engineers Feasibility Study examining flood control options for San Francisquito Creek. The updated hydrology report was prepared by Santa Clara Valley Water District staff as an in-kind service. This document represents a portion of the JPA's required local share of the cost of the Feasibility Study. The hydrology report has been reviewed and approved by the Army Corps of Engineers and will serve as one of the foundational elements of the future hydraulic study of the creek's flow capacity.
The updated San Francisquito Creek Hydrology Report is posted below. In addition to the written report, there are several maps and tables posted below that present supplemental background information used in the preparation of the report.
