Rooftop Solar Technical Potential Map

Rooftop solar technical potential is a measure of whether a building rooftop has appropriate topography and receives enough sunlight for it to be suitable for hosting a solar photovoltaic (PV) system. The map contains two values for measuring potential: 1) the solar suitable area (attribute name: “Solar Area”), which is the total area in square meters across the rooftop that is determined to be suitable for solar, and 2) capacity (attribute name: “Solar Capacity”), which is the kilowatt (kW) direct current (DC) nameplate capacity that would result if all of the solar suitable area were covered with solar panels. Please see the supporting technical document for more information about the methodology used to calculate solar technical potential.
