Linking Together for a Stronger Tomorrow

The City of Palo Alto is proud to partner with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation's linkAges Community program, a community-based exchange network, where members earn hours by offering services and then use those hours to receive services. Our goal is to help 'green' our community while creating connections across all ages to build a strong social support network.  Trained resident Ambassadors will be matched up with neighbors interested in reducing waste and becoming more energy and water efficient.  The services available include:

Energy and Water Efficiency:

  • In-home energy and water efficiency education
  • Weather Stripping
  • LED light bulbs
  • Hose nozzles
  • Water-efficient faucet aerators
  • Toilet dye tabs

Zero Waste:

  • Answer your recycling, composting and reuse questions
  • Make your own, less-toxic household cleaners
  • Remove your name from Junk Mail lists
  • Help preparing for your Clean Up Day appointment
  • Coordinate a neighborhood cluster for the CityWide Yard Sale
