The City launched a new Outage Management System to better track and respond to unplanned and unexpected power outages. This will allow us to speed up our restoration rates and enhance our ability to communicate with you about what's happened in your area. Be sure to check back here for the most up-to-date information on outages and system restoration.
Note: the Outage Map automatically refreshes every five minutes. When calls come in (even one), the system will detect which feeder area that call is from and shade an entire area. Just because an area is shaded, it does not mean that all or many customers are without power.

Electric Outage Preparedness
Electrical emergencies can happen any time. Whether it’s an accident or a weather-related situation, occasional power outages are simply unavoidable. However, you can easily prepare for the unexpected loss of power. Following are some simple things to have on hand:
battery-powered emergency lighting (or flashlights, at a minimum)
portable or battery-powered radio
wind-up or battery-powered clock
nonperishable food and water (including a manual can opener)
first aid kit
telephone that does not depend on electricity
Saturday, September 16: At 2:22 pm, power was disrupted for 186 customers around Moreno and Ross Road. The cause was a Mylar balloon on the power line. The outage was fully restored by 6:15 pm.
Wednesday, September 13: Around 3:45 pm, power was disrupted for a number of utilities customers in the downtown area. Approximately 280 customers were affected. Outage was caused by damaged underground cabling. Power was restored for all customers except the downtown library and 700 block of Ramona around 6 pm. Power was fully restored for all customers by 4:20 am.
Wednesday, September 6: At 3:35 pm, electric service was temporarily suspended for 20 customers in Midtown as crews removed a tree limb from the power line. The tree limb removal was completed and power was fully restored by 5:33 pm.
Thursday, August 31: At 2:34 pm, electric service was disrupted on Fabian Way for 7 customers. Crews fully restored power for all customers at 3:27 pm.
