FY 2017 Preventive Maintenance Project This project will apply a slurry seal on project streets to provide a new roadway surface and prevent further deterioration. Prior to the application of the slurry seal, the Contractor will perform preparation work that typically includes "spot repairs", removal of existing striping, and crack sealing. FY 2016 Alma Street & Middlefield Road Paving Project This project is the second phase of a three year project to repave Alma Street & Middlefield Road. This contract will repave sections of Alma Street and Middlefield Road with new rubberized asphalt concrete (RAC) to improve the condition of the road. A RAC grant from CalRecycle allowed the City to supplement the additional cost of RAC and use an environmentally friendly product. The grant funded the use of 5,850 tons of RAC on the project and diverted 19,500 tires from California landfills.

Palo Alto Various Streets Resurfacing Project This project includes the repaving of Arastradero Road from Foothill Expressway to Deer Creek Road, Hillview Avenue from Hanover Street to Foothill Expressway and Laguna Ave from Los Robles Avenue to Matadero Avenue. Prior to repaving, Laguna Avenue will receive new valley gutters along both sides of most of the roadway in order to improve stormwater drainage. Construction begins in June 2016 is expected to be completed by September 2016.
